Cherokee Legend

Cherokee Legend

Do you know the legend of the Cherokee Indian youths' rite of Passage?

His father takes him into the forest, blindfolds him and leaves him alone.
He is required to sit on a stump the whole night and not remove the blindfold until the rays of the morning sun shine through it.  He cannot cry out for help to anyone.
Once he survives the night, he is a MAN.

He cannot tell the other boys of this experience, because each lad must come into manhood on his own.

The boy is naturally terrified. He can hear all kinds of noises. Wild beasts must surely be all around him. Maybe even some human might do him harm.

The wind blew the grass and earth, and shook his stump, but he sat stoically, never removing the blindfold. It would be the only way he could become a man!

Finally, after a horrific night the sun appeared and he removed his blindfold

It was then that he found his father sitting on the stump next to him.
He had been at watch the entire night, protecting his son from harm

We, too, are never alone. Even when we don't know it, God is watching over
us, sitting on the stump beside us.

When trouble comes, all we have to do is reach out to Him.

If you liked this story, share it.
If not, you took off your blindfold before dawn.

Moral of the story: Just because you can't see God, Doesn't mean He is not there.

"For we walk by faith, not by sight."

Quotes and a bit of humor

A few quotable, quotes:

I have found that there are three stages in every great work of God: first, it is impossible, then it is difficult, then it is done. - Hudson Taylor

Faith is an action, based on a belief, supported by confidence. - R. W. Shambach

Dependence upon God makes heroes of ordinary people
like you and me!     Bruce Wilkinson

I don't have to figure out how God is going to solve my problem. I don't have to understand how He's going to bring it to pass. That's His responsibility. My job is to simply believe that He will. - Joel Osteen

You must flow with the will of God, in the service of God, to obtain the power of God. - Benny Hinn

The power of God will take you out of your own plans and put you into the plan of God. - Smith Wigglesworth

Build your character. Learn to forgive, to be diligent, to be honest. Learn to stay steady and faithful, to keep commitments, to go by what you know and not necessarily by what you feel. - Wayne Cordeiro

You can tell how big a person is
by what it takes to discourage him.

The task ahead of us is never as
great as the Power behind us.

To handle yourself, use your head.
To handle others, use your heart.

Never laugh at anyone's dream. People who don't have dreams don't have much.

Measure wealth not by the things you have, but by the things you have for which you would not take money.
and
"People will forget what you said and what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel."

To make you smile.

Don't let your worries get the

best of you; remember, Moses started out as a basket case.

Never be afraid to try something new.
Remember, amateurs built the ark,
professionals built the Titanic.

Always keep your words soft and sweet,
Just in case you have to eat them.

Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.

May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing,
Dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.

Until next time, God bless you and keep you safe.

More Than Enough

Have you ever thought about the extravagance of God.
More sky than man can see
More sea than he can sail
More sun than he can bear to watch
More stars than he can scale
More breath than he can breathe
More yield than he can sow
More grace than he can comprehend
More love than he can know

  STROKE HAS A NEW INDICATOR

B
lood Clots/Stroke - They Now Have a Fourth Indicator, the Tongue

I will continue to forward this every time it comes around!

STROKE:
Remember the 1st Three Letters....
S. T. R.

STROKE  IDENTIFICATION:

During a BBQ, a woman stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) ....she said she had just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes.

They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food. While she appeared a bit shaken up, Jane went about enjoying herself the rest of the
 party.

Jane's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at
6:00 pm Jane passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Jane would be with us today. Some don't die. They end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead.

It only takes a minute to read this.

A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE

Thank God for the sense to remember the '3' steps, STR. Read and Learn!

Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.

Now doctors say a  bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

S  *
Ask the individual to SMILE.
T  *
Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE  (Coherently)
(i.e. It is sunny out today.)

R
*Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call emergency number immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

New Sign of a Stroke -------- Stick out Your Tongue

NOTE:  Another 'sign' of a stroke is this: Ask the person to 'stick' out his tongue. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other
that is also an indication of a stroke.

This review is from: Truth Journeys: Including the Mystical Book For Masters Only (Paperback)
It was in March 2008 that author, poet and editor David Lazuli Smith began hearing voices from his inner world telling him of a forthcoming adventure to the ancient lands of Israel and Egypt. It is no surprise that Truth Journeys evolved through his direct experiential insights and is based on a true story. This exciting, explicit and exceptional work also contains personal realizations garnered through extensive study, meditation and astral travel.

The journey begins in Edinburgh, Scotland. Mr. Smith writes, "I soon sensed the presence of other spirit forms surround my space. As they neared I felt a healing warmth of great maturity envelop me. Within seconds I received telepathically the following insight: You have journeyed far into yourself to reach the sky walker guardians for we are found only in vibrational levels that revolve much faster than yours, which are invisible to the naked eye."

Not only is Truth Journeys a fast-paced novel that will keep you turning pages, it is filled with insights and truths about finding your own true self. For instance, "When one really learns to see, the importance of the self just melts away, trickling out into all those jugular streams of consciousness that go to make up this beautiful universe."

It is clear to this reviewer that, in Truth Journeys, David Lazuli Smith has given us an onward soulful vision of synchronicity!

Future Memory by P. M. H. Atwater (Paperback - January 1, 1999)

By:  Tamar Brooks (Los Angeles, CA USA) This review is from: Future Memory (Paperback)    5 Star rating
It's uplifting and transformational. Atwater tells us of her extraordinary experiences, and we are carried away to new levels of understanding of the Universe. Many of her Brain-shift experiences were mind-blowing, but they are presented in such a way that we can easily accept the truth which they suggest and know that it's certainly possible for those of us who have NEVER had an NDE to perceive this same reality as well.
For me this confirmed ideas that have been brewing in me for a long time, and gave them substance and strength. So many of the books I have been reading lately are zeroing in on the understanding of how this whole existence can be happening right inside the mind of God, and that we are actively participating in the extraordinary evolution of the Creator of the Universe. This is big and it's important that we understand and accept the responsibility of this reality, and it's a joyful realization as well. Tears of gratefulness streamed down my face as I read of "the wonders of spirit unveiled...a splendor forever seeking release in a desire to experience and express itself."
Atwater's story is as poetic as it is scientifically compelling. It's so well-written and well-organized that it reads like a novel you won't want to put down, even though it's packed with a substantial dose of physics, metaphysics, and philosophy. Future Memory will put a smile in your heart which you will never forget. Find your place in the Cosmos and realize "we are beloved thoughts in The Mind of God...the real heaven."

I ASKED GOD

I ASKED GOD
I asked God to take my pain away.

God said, No.

It is not for me to take away,

but for you to give it up.

I asked God to make my handicapped child whole.
God said, No.
Her spirit was whole,
her body was only temporary.

I asked God to grant me patience.
God said, No.
Patience is a by-product of tribulations,
it isn't granted, it is earned.

I asked God to give me happiness.
God said, No.
I give you blessings,
Happiness is up to you.

I asked God to spare me pain.
God said, No.
Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares
and brings you closer to me.

I asked God to make my spirit grow.
God said, No.
You must grow on your own,
but I will prune you to make you fruitful.

I asked for all things that I might enjoy life.
God said, No.
I will give you life
so that you may enjoy all things.

I ask God to help me LOVE others, as much as he loves me.
God said... Ahhhh, finally you have the idea.
